The Must-Read Book Club

Spring Cooper: A few years ago I went through a particularly harsh break-up and was sobbing night and day, inconsolably. My friend Kitty suggested I do Gabby's 40-day workbook "May Cause Miracles."

When the break-up threatened my mental health, she had the workbook delivered to my Kindle and told me she would do it simultaneously, and that we were starting the next day. Her conviction that the book would help me was so strong, and my resistance at that point was so weak, that I started the book as prescribed.

Within three days my life was turning around and now I even have a tattoo on my foot inspired by the lessons I've learned through this work. So when "The Universe Has Your Back" was published, I had a pre-ordered copy arrive on my doorstep the day after the book was released.

YCNYC: Favorite quote?

SC: "If you walk around feeling defeated, doubtful, and sad, the Universe can't supply you with high-vibe positivity. When you walk through life conjuring up the feelings that you want to feel, the manifestation process begins, and your desire are reflected back to you."

YCNYC: What one person would you recommend this book to?

SC: I've already recommended many of Gabby's books to so many people. But, when I think of this specific book, I think of recommending it to someone who is ready to shift; someone who feels a little stuck but WANTS to take that next step toward that best version of themselves.

YCNC: What moment or part resonates with you the most?

SC: This book has exercises to help us shift, but isn't a workbook mapped out over a set amount of time like MCM. One of my favorite activities in the book was writing a personal faith statement. I've returned to mine over and over: "I know the Universe is holding me: rocking me, soothing me, humming lullabies as I need them. I know the Universe pushes me to my feet when I'm ready: always holding my hand." #theuniversehasmyback
