The Must-Read Book Club

Angela Botta: As an educator of one of my greatest passions, I find I always crave learning more! I recently took a 6-week anatomy series called "Body of Knowledge" led by a colleague and friend, Laurel Beversdorf, here in NYC. This book was part of the recommended reading and was nicely paired with the information we covered in each workshop.

YCNYC: Favorite quote?​

AB: It's not really that kind of book, but my favorite thing about it are the amazing illustrations, tons on every page! It feels like your own mini-lab project.

YCNYC: What one person would you recommend this book to?

AB: Anyone interested in learning more about anatomy and physiology, beyond the name of each bone, muscle and their function, this is layers deeper without being intimidating! Yoga teachers, body workers or anyone fascinated by the human body, it's makeup and movements.

YCNC: What moment or part resonates with you the most?

AB: Like most, I am a visual learner, so the thousands of drawings with short detailed examples throughout the book makes these ideas easy to retain and easy to put into practice.

Anatomy books can be dry and not very exciting. I so wanted to come up with another answer that would fulfill an "amazing book I'm reading," for this book club. But, it's honest and true and simply a wonderful resource, so Satya at it's finest ;)
