Get A Self Care Smoothie

As yogis, we are constantly and happily helping others break through their barriers

on and off the mat. Whether you’re a parent helping your child memorize the

multiplication table or a devoted employee helping your company rise above

expectations and soar to new heights of success, you, my friend, are an invaluable

human being.

In order to serve, we need a little loving self-care for our own bodies and soul. I believe smoothies are a great way to flood the body with nutrients. Smoothies are considered pre-digested so your body doesn’t have to work hard at breaking down the foods allowing more energy for detoxing and revitalizing.

Try my strong immune-boosting smoothie for a lift in your energy and spirit.

Ingredients:

  • 1 to 1 1/2 cups non-dairy milk or water

  • ¼ cup blueberries

  • ½ frozen banana

  • 1 scoop powdered chocolate protein

  • 1 teaspoons coconut oil

  • 1 tablespoon raw cacao powder or cacao nibs

  • 1 teaspoon bee pollen

  • Dash of cayenne

Blend all the ingredients together in a high-speed blender and enjoy.

Note: smoothies can be sweetened with 1 tablespoon of honey or coconut sugar or

opt for a no sugar sweetener such as stevia. I suggest 2-3 drops of stevia per

smoothie.
