Deeper Learning Series: Bhakti Yoga

Join YogaCity NYC and Swami Asokananda, Eddie Stern, Joshua Greene, Michael Bühler-Rose and Bryn Chrisman in the 4th installment of the Deeper Learning Program this Friday, November 15 at Integral Yoga, 227 West 13th Street, to discuss Bhakti and the role devotion plays in practice and teachings.

We will examine questions such as: What is Bhakti? How does one become a Bhakti? How does it play a role in modern practice? How do teachers and studios bring Bhakti to their classes? Finally, how does it get integrated into American religious beliefs?

Attendees are invited to bring their own questions to be added to the conversation, as well.

This panel of experts will allow us to ponder some of the more advanced and intellectually richeraspects of yoga that get short shrift in American yoga. Author and longtime

The Deeper Learning Series, sponsored by YogaCity NYC and moderated by Founder of YogaCity NYC, Brette Popper, are intended to open up serious dialogue between diverse schools of yoga in New York City. The series is held at rotating studios to give yoga students a chance to visit places they may not be acquainted with. yoga philosophy lecturer, Joshua Greene, believes that “when yogas devotional foundation is more clearly understood, taught and practiced; yogis have an opportunity to help resolve issues of global concern surrounding yoga and religion.” He is excited to share some of his stories from the Bhakti path.
