The Must-Read Book Club

Courtney Harms: This book was recommended as optional reading in my first yoga teacher training as a practical way to approach daily meditation. It has continued to resonate ten years later!

YCNYC: Favorite quote?

CH: "At the root of this path is an appreciation for the present moment and a cultivation of an intimate relationship with it through a continual attending to it with care and discernment. It is the direct opposite of taking life for granted."

YCNYC: What one person would you recommend this book to?

CH: Anyone looking for practical tools to quiet a busy mind! So, almost everybody!

YCNC: What moment or part resonates with you the most?

CH: There is a chapter about ahimsa (non harming/ non- violence) where the author expresses how the willingness to harm stems from our own fears. The more we understand ourselves, our fears etc the more peace we experience and spread to those around us.
